Security Seals

A Security Seal is used to provide an indication of and deterrent against tampering, pilfering and unauthorized entry. Seals are generally classified as either indicative or barrier and are supplied with a variable or fixed length, subject to application.

Indicative seals are generally manufactured from plastic material and can be removed with a simple tool. They are therefore ideal for providing evidence of unauthorized entry or tampering.

When using the seals correctly they can highlight when and where the unauthorized access took place. A seal can be used to trace items from location to location enabling the construction of an audit trail.

The use of a seal forms part of an overall security sealing system. The seal will be effective if tight control is placed on the whole security sealing system. This mean that each time the sealed items are passed to a new person, the number of the seals needs to be checked to prove the unbroken chain.

Copenhagen Election recommends using plastic security seals or metal seals for our various types of ballot boxes and kit boxes.  We are also able to supply other seals such as bolt seals, cable seals, metal seals, padlocks with key, padlock plastic seals and other forms of seals.

Copenhagen Election recommends that the seals be used to secure Ballot boxes, Polling Kits and other items needing to be secured.
